Ready?

Deep breath in slowly through the nose…
Energy rising… Really feel your breath filling up your lungs from the bottom up…

Pause for 3 seconds to savor…

Exhale slowly through the nose…
Observing your energy move throughout your body… Just let the air empty itself out easily as you draw your belly button inward and upward…

Pause for 3 seconds to savor and give thanks for this moment…

… and repeat at your own pace…

This is called a Four-Part Breath in the YogaSkills method of Kemetic Yoga that I teach…

Breathing.

Why breathing, you ask? 

The ONE THING that everyone needs before even water is oxygen! 

… and oxygen gets into the brain and throughout your body because of your breath.

Breathing consciously is also directly related to having a coherent heart and mind!!

That means that your heart and both sides of your brain are working together in your favor (WHAT?!)

They are making new connections and literally gearing themselves up to help you shape a new reality at that moment…
… and when you have gone beyond the ideas that you have about life, you are living as your Essence…
Awesome, huh?

Here's the Thing.

Since we’re constantly moving and doing stuff

Hastily jumping from one task to another…
One conversation to another… 
… and calling it “multitasking” (everyone including me is guilty of this from time to time)…

We never take the time to prepare our bodies for the next activity. To restore. To adjust. To reconnect with our Freedom Intentions. To fully involveourselves.

The body gets used to overworking itself over time.

It gets used to scraping for oxygen to keep up with all of the stress it will endure throughout the day.
It gets used to feeling tired or depleted. 
It gets used to all those chemicals being released that make us want more of the same chaos.
It gets used to NOT following through with what the mind says…

ALL BEFORE we start to think about a workout, a yoga session, or doing anything that promotes a Freedom Lifestyle!

This is completely understandable, though…
… because it seems we have SO MANY things to get done in a single day– just to be human and live a “normal” life…

…and trust me when I say, I am no stranger to the hustle…

But everybody has 10 seconds to settle the body down…

To turn down that reactive fight-or-flight stress response…

And activate the autonomic nervous system (those deeply relaxing and self-healing mechanisms within us)…

And it all starts with one conscious breath to make all the magic happen!

Here's What's Helped Me On My Journey...

A wise person told me, “listen to your body as it whispers if you don’t want to hear it roar…”

Becoming conscious of how my breathing and more intentional about the thoughts, emotions, and sensations that I embody in the moment has been powerful for me and many others.

This is my simple practice before I begin my physical yoga practice or DO ANYTHING.

Taking time for at least 3 four-part breaths
Taking time to inwardly express gratitude for who I am right now— As Is!

This is my effortless way of keeping my mind, and body one step ahead…

So, in today’s video, we’ll dive into just that!

Ask your-Self, “What if I we absolutely fulfilled and in love with this moment? What would it be like to embody my highest freedom intention right now?”

Really involve yourself and marinate in it.
