Be Warned

It’s creamy, packed with all 102 minerals and vitamins that the body needs to thrive (WITHOUT THAT BITTER HERBAL TASTE– WHICH IS HUGE), and sweet enough to easily replace a breakfast or dessert-time treat!

It turned out to be such a flavor miracle, that I even put it above my Peach Cobbler and Strawberry Cheesecake smoothie bowl recipes (virtually impossible to do).

I swear, during this 90-Day cleanse that I started on a whim one random evening (40 Days ago), smoothies like these are the secret to why my energy has increased instead of taking a crippling swan-dive into the abyss of detox paralysis.

This recipe has been a staple for me as I rotate through my other favorites and concoct new recipes (out of either inspiration or drive to use what’s in my dawg-gone fridge before I buy anything else).

But hey you may be wondering at this point…

“Tenci. Girl–

How on earth is this bad boy different from any other smoothie recipe I can find on the internet?”

Well, honey child, I will tell you with full honesty and haste!

It is virtually indifferent from your everyday delicious plant-based, vegan smoothie except for ONE VITAL INGREDIENT..

The Secret Ingredient

You wanna know what it is…?

Hmmm…?

Okay, fine, I won’t tease you or insult your intelligence by droning on like a comedically suspenseful thriller movie. FINE!

It’s the use of this nutritional herb mix that I created a couple of years ago.

Honestly, you are not going to find anything like this at your local health food store. You can find all the individual ingredients on Amazon, however.

No. this is not where I tell you that you have to buy my nutritional herb mix in order to have all this nutritional goodness. That would be a lie (even though I would happily make you a batch should you feel called to ask me).

When it comes to healing one’s own body from the inside-out, this nutritional herb mix is my superpower that helps me avoid ALL of the below:

  • unsatisfiable hunger
  • mental haziness
  • bloated tummy
  • constipation
  • indigestion, and even
  • emotional mood swings related to old eating habits

The Harvard Medical School attests to the power that “clean eating” has on your mental, emotional, and physical states. You can find many books and tons of academic and medical research on this topic as well.

The Ufulu Child ALIGN™ Nutritional Herb Mix takes you beyond all of the crap listed above, and goes to work on re-balancing and repairing whatever needs attention in your body by starting with re-regulating your digestive system and helping you empty that colon (hehe).

Don’t worry, I won’t tell any poop puns. Nor will I rant about the importance of a poop-stool or optimal positions for pooping during a cleanse (this time).

ALL healing begins in your mind and the heart; however, the entire digestive system is the second place where the bulk of healing is rooted 90% of the time.

Your body is only truly healthy AND THRIVING when it’s in an alkaline state.

The herbs that are used in our Ufulu Child ALIGN™ Nutritional Herb Mix are specifically selected after years of research (and me using my family as guinea pigs). These herbs are MEDICINAL in nature and have been used to prevent illness for thousands of years in various ancient cultures throughout the world.

The best part?

It’s only FOUR ingredients to fuel your body with all 102 organic vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other antioxidants that it needs to stay healthy. Here is a full list of what’s in the Ufulu Child ALIGN™ Nutritional Herb Mix

1

Gather 6 tupperware containers to use for storing your smoothie bowls. (Sometimes I wash reuse containers for smoothie bowls that I get from juice bars. Otherwise, I just get bowl-shaped reusable containers from the local grocery store-- Easy!)

2

Combine your frozen pineapple, kale, 1 banana, half avocado, hemp seeds, almond milk, coconut milk powder, cinnamon, vanilla, dates, Ufulu Child ALIGN™ Nutritional Herb Mix, and ginger (optional) into your blender and blend until smooth.

3

Pour blended smoothie into tupperware containers, leaving 1-2 inches from the top to leave room for toppings.

4

Add granola or shredded coconut (spread around to make an even layer no more than a 1/2 inch high).

5

Add sliced bananas, sliced strawberries, and blueberries. Feel free to substitute these fruits with your favorites (I love to use mango, peaches, and raspberries as well).

6

Grab a spoon and smoothie bowl and enjoy it! Put the lids on your containers and store the rest in the fridge until you're ready to eat them. They'll keep just fine for 5-7 days.

Simple Recipe Swaps & Healthy Adaptations

Yes, I know. Sometimes you just don’t have this ingredient or that. Sometimes you may even want to change it up to make it even simpler, more cost-effective, and healthier.

Not to worry! This recipe is extremely versatile. Here are some variations and swaps you can try:

  • Want Less Sugar/Sweetness?
    • Use less dates (1-2) instead. You can also leave off the banana
    • Honestly, the granola that you’re using probably has the most sugar in it, so I would swap it for unsweetened coconut shreds instead.
    • If you are looking to cut the sugar further, use an unsweetened almond or hemp milk like I do.
  • Don’t Like Avocado?
    • Before we put the cart before the horse, and you start raising objections about putting avocado in your smoothie, let me say something. One thing I noticed is that when you only use 1/2 an avocado, it helps it become creamy without tasting like it has avocado in it. However, when I use more it’s overwhelmingly “avocado-y”.
    • That being said, if you try it and still are opposed to adding it in next time, you can swap it with a fresh mango (or 3/4 cup of frozen) and still get that creamy goodness. I’m sure you’ll like the taste too. Keep in mind that you won’t need as many dates if you make this swap.
  • Looking for a Grain-Free or Gluten-Free Option?
    • Swap the granola for dried, raw, unsweetened coconut shreds, chia seeds, or hemp seeds. You can also use a grain-free granola, but I would just go with the coconut shreds (or a mixture of the coconut and hemp seeds) to keep it as cost effective and simple as possible.
  • Want to Keep it Optimal for Digestion Using Food Combining Principles?
    • Swap the banana for mango or leave it off all together.
    • Swap the granola for organic, raw, unsweetened coconut shreds, hemp seeds and/or chia seeds instead
  • Want to Eat this During a Live or Raw Cleanse?
    • For a Raw/Live cleanse with only seeds, fruits and leafy greens (Cleanse Level 1), swap the granola for hemp seeds, coconut shreds, or chia seeds.
    • For a Raw/Live cleanse with smoothies, juices, herbal teas, and water only (Cleanse level 2), leave off the toppings all together and just drink the smoothie.
    • If you are doing a strict water,  tea, and juice cleanse (Cleanse level 3), this recipe is not appropriate. You would need a Wake Up & Cleanse beverage instead.
